01 · Overview

What OneForma is

OneForma is the crowd-work platform of Centific, the AI data company formerly known as Pactera EDGE. It runs a rolling board of projects (transcription, translation, voice and image collection, search and chatbot evaluation and, on some projects, generative-AI tasks), most of them tied to a specific language or country. It suits multilingual contributors who are comfortable applying project by project and waiting for payouts, which are reported to run monthly.

Commitment. Self-paced and flexible on most projects, working as an independent contractor. Some evaluation roles may set weekly hour ranges or deadlines, while data-collection projects are often one-off sessions. Volume is irregular and depends on which projects are open for your locale.

  2. 02Translate, localize or review short texts
  3. 03Record voice, photo or video samples for speech and vision datasets

  5. 05Label text, images or audio for machine-learning datasets

What it pays, and how

When you are paid. Reported as monthly, for the previous month's approved work. The exact payment date and any minimum payout threshold were not confirmed; check OneForma's own FAQ.

Pay is set per project and may be quoted per task, per unit of work (such as a recording session or an amount of audio) or per hour. Rates depend on language, locale, task complexity and client, and on micro-tasks the effective hourly rate depends heavily on your speed. No sourced USD range is given here. Read the rate in each project's listing or terms before committing time, and treat pay figures on third-party review sites with caution.

04 · Who gets in

Requirements and difficulty

Open

1 / 4

Most applicants who meet the basics get in.

  • Legal working age in your country (generally 18 or older)
  • A OneForma account with a complete profile and an up-to-date CV
  • Native or near-native fluency in the project language, and residence in the required country for locale-specific projects
  • Passing each project's qualification test or review
  • A PayPal or Payoneer account in your own name
  • A reliable internet connection and computer; some data-collection projects need a smartphone, microphone or camera
  • Identity verification and signed project agreements or NDAs for some projects

05 · How to get in

From sign-up to first paid task

  1. 1

    Browse the job board

Open oneforma.com/jobs and filter by language and country. Each listing describes the task and the eligible locales, and some state the pay rate.

  2. 2

    Create an account

Register with your email and complete your profile: country of residence, languages and proficiency, education and an up-to-date CV.

  3. 3

    Apply to a project

Applications are made per project. Some projects approve on profile review; many add a qualification step.

  4. 4

    Pass the qualification

Read the project guidelines, then complete its certification test or sample tasks. Some projects also require identity checks, project agreements or an NDA.

  5. 5

    Set up payment

Link a PayPal or Payoneer account in your own name in your OneForma profile. Where PayPal cannot receive funds, use Payoneer.

  6. 6

    Start work and get paid

Payouts are reported to run monthly for the previous month's approved work. Ongoing quality reviews decide whether you stay on a project.

06 · Tips

How to get accepted and stay active

  1. 01

Complete every profile field and upload a CV that names your languages, dialects, education and any transcription, translation or annotation experience; project teams may review profiles before inviting contributors.

  2. 02

Apply only to projects whose language and country you genuinely match. Projects can check where you live, and misrepresenting your location risks removal.

  3. 03

Read the full guidelines before starting a qualification test and keep them open while you work; tests usually check precise formatting, tagging and style rules rather than general ability.

  4. 04

Treat your first batch of real tasks as an extension of the test. Early quality reviews can decide whether you stay on a project.

  5. 05

Check the job board regularly. Projects for smaller locales can open and fill quickly.

  6. 06

Do not use machine translation or AI tools on tasks unless the project explicitly allows it.

  7. 07

Keep one account per person and use a payment account in your own name; duplicate or shared accounts are common grounds for deactivation on crowd platforms.

07 · The verdict

The good and the not so good

Strengths

  • Open sign-up with no platform-wide entrance exam; qualification happens project by project.
  • A strong fit for multilingual contributors, with projects that have historically included African languages and locales.
  • A wide range of task types, from short data-collection sessions to longer evaluation roles.
  • Payoneer support gives a payout route where PayPal cannot receive funds.
  • Operated by Centific, an established AI data services company.

Drawbacks

  • Work is project-based and often locale-locked; there may be nothing open for your languages for weeks.
  • Pay varies widely by project, and some micro-task and data-collection work can yield a low effective hourly rate.
  • Payouts reported as monthly in arrears mean waiting several weeks for your first payment.
  • Qualification tests are usually unpaid unless a project says otherwise.
  • Some data-collection projects ask for voice recordings, photos or video of yourself; read the consent terms carefully.

08 · In Africa

Open to applicants in Africa

Registration has generally been open from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Egypt, and OneForma has historically posted projects for African languages and locales. What is open to you depends on each project's language and country filters at the time, so availability fluctuates. For payouts, Payoneer has historically served all five countries and is the usual fallback where PayPal cannot receive funds. For years PayPal accounts in Nigeria could only send money; since January 2026 Nigerians can receive PayPal payments by linking a Paga wallet (reported by AllAfrica and TechCabal), but whether OneForma payouts arrive smoothly through that route is untested. PayPal's current position in Ghana was not checked. None of this was re-verified with OneForma for 2026.

Where it hires. Sign-up is generally open internationally. Each project sets its own eligible languages and countries of residence, and many are restricted to a single locale.

Never use a VPN or someone else's identity to get around a country restriction. Platforms verify identity and location, and accounts caught doing it are closed, often with unpaid earnings.

09 · Questions

OneForma, answered

Is OneForma legitimate?

Yes. It is a long-running crowd-work platform operated by Centific, the AI data company formerly known as Pactera EDGE. Apply only through oneforma.com and never pay anyone for access to work, because fake recruiters often pose as well-known platforms.

How and when does OneForma pay?

Through PayPal or Payoneer, reportedly once a month for the previous month's approved work; confirm the exact date in OneForma's FAQ. Rates are set per project, whether per task, per unit or per hour, and should be stated in the project listing or terms. Do not start until you know the rate.

Can I work on OneForma from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa or Egypt?

You can generally register, but each project sets its own language and country rules, so what is open to you changes over time. Filter the job board by your languages and country. Payoneer is the usual payout route where PayPal cannot receive funds. In Nigeria, PayPal has been able to receive payments through linked Paga wallets since January 2026, but that route is untested for OneForma payouts.

I signed up but see no tasks. Why?

An account does not come with work by itself. You apply to individual projects and pass their qualification steps; until then your dashboard can be empty.

Are the qualification tests paid?

Usually not. Treat them as unpaid screening unless the project says otherwise, and read the project guidelines in full before you start.
